1:1 Health Coaching

Are you ready to take control of your health?

What is health coaching?

As a health coach my role is to guide and support you on your personal journey to create real change so you can reach your health goals. Whether you’re struggling to implement the changes you already know you should make, or you’re totally overwhelmed and simply don’t know where to begin to start to feel like you again, I’m here to guide and support you.

I work with you to co-create an achievable plan with realistic goals and to then help you stay motivated along the way. Time and time again I’ve seen how seemingly small changes can have a big impact and lead to a real butterfly effect on one’s health, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

Ultimately health coaching is about empowering you with knowledge and techniques so that you can take back control of your health and be the very best version of yourself. Because let’s face it, when we don’t feel our best we can’t meet our potential in our careers, at home or in our relationships.

My approach

I take a holistic, or ‘whole body’, approach and the aim is to identify and address the root cause of your health concerns. Our mind and body is a complex system that is integrally inter-linked, so to look at any one area of health in isolation often means missing key pieces to the puzzle. As a Health Coach I consider you as both a unique individual and a ‘whole’ and work to guide and support you to make changes across 5 key pillars of health:

  • Nutrition – you’ll find no restriction or fad-diets here. I follow the latest nutritional science and work to help you NOURISH your body by ensuring it has what it needs to work optimally.
  • Movement – our increasingly sedentary lives are taking their toll, but don’t worry if just the thought of running or sweating it out at the gym fills you with dread, the focus is building movement into your life in a way you can enjoy it.
  • Sleep – so often de-prioritised but sleep is our super-power and poor quality or simply not enough of it can have surprising far-reaching effects when it comes to your health.
  • Mindset – chronic unmanaged stress can leave us emotional, burnt out, more susceptible to weight gain and eventually lead to more serious illnesses. It’s why the WHO calls stress ‘the health epidemic of the 21st century’. So stress management techniques are vital tolls for many of the clients I see.
  • Environmental toxins – the 100’s of chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis in everything from our cleaning and beauty products to the plastics our food is stored in are playing havoc with our health. Particularly if you have hormone related issues, this is one important yet often overlooked area to address.

 What to expect

Before our first consultation I will send you a 4-day food diary to complete and send back to me before our first appointment. Our initial consultation lasts for 2 hours during which I will take a detailed case history including all your current health concerns, family and medical history, lifestyle and physical activity as well as an in-depth diet analysis (I’ll send you a 4-day food diary to complete in advance). Together we’ll agree realistic goals and some initial action points to start you on your journey. I will then send you a written action plan with tailored diet and lifestyle recommendations, recipes for inspiration and any other tips and resources I think will help you.

I offer quick weekly check-ins by phone, email or Whats App to help keep you on track and in your follow up consultation we’ll assess your progress and make any adjustments or additions to your plan as necessary. I encourage clients to work with me for a minimum of 3 sessions to allow time to get to the root cause of your health concerns and to create the new habits required to achieve long-lasting results.

Testimonials

I thought I would just have to put up with my IBS symptoms forever. But the plan Lorna created for me was easy to follow and after just a few weeks there was already a big improvement. I feel like I can go out and enjoy life again.
I wish I had seen Lorna years ago, I couldn’t believe the results after such a short space of time! I didn’t realise I had a gluten intolerance that affected my digestion and is linked to my thyroid condition. I lost half a stone without trying by switching a few foods, reducing my gluten intake and adding more fruit and veg to my diet. I love Lorna’s realistic approach, with no judgement. Highly recommend!
I'd been told I had to go on medication for life after being diagnosed with gout in my early 30s. By making the simple changes Lorna suggested to my diet I now rarely get attacks and am taking no medication! The best bit is I don't feel overly restricted in what I can eat so can still enjoy the odd steak without suffering afterwards.
